What's new in iTaskX?
iTaskX 6 brings a refined new design that gives you even more of the things you love about iTaskX. But it’s not just about how much better the interface looks. It’s also about how much better it works.
Backward planning of projects
In project management, it is a well-known scenario where, for example, the client announces a target or goal with a fixed end date.
In order to be able to implement these targets more efficiently, iTaskX 6 now also offers the possibility to reverse the planning direction and plan away from the back. This way you can quickly and easily get the latest possible planning start of your project.
Support of Hammock tasks
Until now it was difficult to map tasks in project management solutions that dynamically (based on other tasks) adjust the start and end. e.g. as a project manager you want to forecast your time for managing a project. If you don't want to manually change this task for every change that affects the start or end of your project, you can now use a Hammock task in iTaskX 6.
In a nutshell, this task type allows the duration of a specific task to span the duration of the entire project (or just part of the project).
Password protection for projects
In iTaskX 6 Pro you can assign a password to your project so that only people who know the password can open that project.
Projects that have been assigned a password in iTaskX 6 Pro can also be opened in iTaskX 6 Standard after entering the password.
Share all project appointments with one click
iTaskX 6 offers one of the most modern and comprehensive export interfaces to the macOS Calendar. With this new interface almost all project information created in iTaskX can be transferred to the macOS calendar and from there automatically forwarded to all project participants.
This makes it possible that each project participant receives only his appointments or if desired all appointments of the project via iPhone, iPad, Mac, or a web browser.
iCloud Calendar and iTaskX are a perfect team!
Agile project management methods

Manually scheduled tasks
iTaskX has traditionally been its ability to recalculate task schedules when you change the project start date or a change to one task’s schedule affects one or more linked tasks. This powerful behavior saves you from having to rethink and reenter dates to rescheduled tasks throughout the project.
But flip sides to the benefits of automation always exist, and in the case of project scheduling, automatic scheduling can lead to unwanted schedule changes based on software behavior and not on human expertise.
To retain the helpful aspects of automation that make scheduling less time-consuming while allowing project managers to retain schedule control when needed, iTaskX allows user-controlled scheduling.
If you want to use this behavior by default for new tasks, you can specify this in your project options.
New resource management
Using the new resources inspector in iTaskX makes handling resources a breeze – you can create, edit and assign resources in one place. In the brand new iTaskX Resource Inspector, it does not matter if you want to assign resources to a single task or multiple tasks at once.
To assign a resource, simply select a task and enter the units or cost in the field right beside the resource name. It can't be easier!
Columns, Columns, Columns…
iTaskX now gives you access to over 275 different task columns and 230 freely configurable resource columns for all situations.
For example, in addition to the existing Notes column, iTaskX now offers 30 individually configurable text columns.
And best of all, you can exchange all these new columns with Microsoft Project!
Thus, iTaskX offers the most comprehensive support for Microsoft Project among all project management solutions available for macOS.
